Paste any campaign link. We parse it exactly the way analytics will, and tell you what is going to misreport - and how to fix it.
Clean UTMs only help if they survive the click
Many shorteners drop the query string on redirect. Revolink carries your parameters through to the landing page.
A broken UTM does not return a 404. The link opens, the visitor converts, and the only sign anything went wrong is a report that stops adding up. These are the failure modes worth catching before the link is printed on a flyer or scheduled into a campaign.
The two errors that split one campaign into several rows. Capital letters and stray spaces are invisible to you and decisive for analytics.
utm_medium without utm_source, or a source with no medium. Either way the session struggles to reach a channel group and quietly lands in Unassigned.
The same parameter twice, or a value escaped twice over. Both usually come from one tool appending parameters to a URL that already had them.
UTMs after a # are never sent to the server. Single-page apps sometimes need them there, but server-side analytics will not see them.
fbclid, gclid, msclkid and friends. They do no harm to attribution, but they bloat a link you are about to print, post or put behind a QR code.
The builder applies these same rules as you type, so the problems above never make it into the URL.
It parses the URL the way a browser and an analytics platform would, then runs a dozen checks: capitalization, spaces, non-ASCII characters, duplicate parameters, double encoding, empty values, source and medium pairing, unrecognized mediums, parameters hidden in the fragment, leftover ad click IDs and overall URL length.
No. Nothing is requested and nothing is sent anywhere - the URL is parsed entirely in your browser. That also means the checker cannot follow redirects or tell you where a short link ends up.
Because it silently splits your data. GA4 treats Facebook and facebook as two distinct sources, so one campaign reports as two half-campaigns. Nothing breaks visibly, which is exactly why it goes unnoticed for weeks.
It is a warning, not a hard error. GA4 matches utm_medium against a known list to assign a default channel group. A medium outside that list still records, but the traffic will not join Paid Search, Social, Email or any other standard group in your reports.
Not from the browser - following a redirect to another domain is blocked by CORS. What it can tell you is whether the parameters are correct before the click. Whether they survive afterwards depends on your shortener; Revolink preserves them through its redirects.
